It’s been a very unusual week and I need to creatively pour my head out. This is like a censored version of my journal. With pictures instead of smiley faces everywhere.
Today’s plan was to clean my studio, but I have a cold, so instead have chosen to vegetate. I may get my craft on and finish a project, like this one –
Which is supposed to look something like this gem from Fleur Wood – I want to float around in it on warm Sunday mornings and feel beautiful -

Last weekend saw birthday partyage, the launch of Chris O’Neill’s new EP, way too much cake and wine, followed by days off work (schwing!) and the finale of Snowy Belfast’s residency at the Espy (my eyes hurt from looking at its website). I have a cold which makes everything smell weird and am ever so grateful for a weekend in. If I haven’t done much else this year, at least I’ve had the pleasure of making art for 2 CD’s for talented muso friends.

I was given lots of bottles of good wine and beautiful gifts and cards with words that should go down in history as famous inspirational quotes <3. My amazing friend Jhess, who has been puppeteering in The Magical Oak Tree, made me this amazing puppet monster for my birthday. Her name is Harriette the Rainbow Monster. She is the essence of a good friend; I keep her in my bedroom to ward off nightmares, daymares and bad men.
I’m blessed to have such talented and creative friends.
My next little project is production design for a scene of an indie film produced by the clever Mr Smolen of Balloon Tree. I’m so excited. He showed me pictures of the location options and asked me to do my thing with it. I need to turn a warehouse into a hipster party. Challenge accepted. Think candles in jars, buntings, rugs, vintage chairs, hard rubbish art chic… I’m gonna have so much fun with this one!
And THEN I want to focus on making tunes. I’ve been trying to start a new band for 12 months now. It will happen!
What will it sound like, I hear you ask? If Angus and Julia Stone had a baby with Best Coast, it would be me. Sorrowful broken-heart songs mashed up with trashy femme grunge. Probably.

Oh I made this necklace last week – pom pom trim and jewellery bits from eBay:

Ok I’ll go and do things now. Or pretend to. Or do nothing out of sheer mental exhaustion over all the possible things I could do.
